Analyse It Mangas is a website focused on the Japanese manga market. Our goal is to provide information about magazines, digital platforms, and tankobon manga in Japan.
When was Analyse It created?
Analyse It was created on October 1, 2012, by Leonardo Nicolin, based on a previous website of the same name, also created by him. Initially, the site was only available in Brazilian Portuguese, but on October 1, 2024, the English version of Analyse It was launched.
Currently, Analyse It is made up of 6 members, 4 of whom are writers: Leonardo Nicolin, Lucca, DNSS, and FelRib.
Who is Leonardo Nicolin?
An Italo-Brazilian living in Italy, he started studying Weekly Shonen Jump over ten years ago, and later expanded his research to the entire manga market. He created the site with the goal of developing a space where everyone can discuss the manga market in a healthy and respectful way. Feel free to disagree with the writers’ analyses and share your opinions respectfully.

What is the TOC?
Contrary to what many believe, the TOC is not the result of a ranking based on votes from seven weeks prior, as even Eichiiro Oda himself has debunked. The TOC is the table of contents of the magazines, where the editorial department sets the reading order of the manga.
In Weekly Shonen Jump, editors tend (though not always) to rank the series based on popularity. The Editor-in-Chief, along with the Deputy Editor, chooses the positions of the manga using several factors: the quality of the week’s chapter, the votes from previous weeks, mangas sales, the potential need for promotion, and also to create a smooth reading flow throughout the magazine. This is why it’s often necessary to place comedies after a string of serious chapters. Manga that consistently appear in the lower rankings are at risk of cancellation.
To study the TOC, while each edition is important, it’s essential to look at the bigger picture—such as the average ranking of the series, their sales, their status in the manga (and anime) market, and the narrative stage of the work.
Which TOCs do we cover on Analyse It?
Weekly Shonen Jump, Weekly Shonen Sunday, Weekly Shonen Magazine, Weekly Young Jump, Jump SQ, V-Jump, Shonen Gangan, Monthly Afternoon, GFantasy, Ribon, and Hana to Yume.
Why don’t you cover Weekly Shonen Champion or Young Animal?
Our current writers are already busy covering the magazines listed above, and we haven’t been able to find new writers with expertise in Shonen Champion or Young Animal to write about it.
Does Analyse It work with leaks?
No, aside from the Weekly Shonen Jump TOC (and leaked news), we do not share any visual leaks or manga spoilers on our site.
